For years, I've been a Weber Kettle user and for years, I was annoyed at how much good, unspent charcoal was being wasted as the spaces between the steel were too big and good, hot, burning bits of charcoal were simply falling through and being wasted.

For that reason, I have always used 2 charcoal grates and laid them criss-cross over one another. It improved the grilling experience so much, I decided to have an accessory made that worked better than the original. So I did.
